Do your authors ever do events?
I live outside the UK. Will you read my book?
Most of our authors are UK-based – in most cases, local representation makes more sense for both client and agent. We are happy, however, to consider submissions from overseas.
What genres do you represent?
We are very proud of our strong list of non-fiction and literary fiction, but we also represent writers of graphic novels and crime thrillers, among other genres. We welcome submissions in all genres apart from poetry, drama, children's picture books, and books aimed at an entirely academic readership.
Do you offer feedback on submissions?
What is your commission?
How do I contact an author?
We are, of course, unable to give out personal mail or email addresses for our authors. If you would like to contact them, send an email to email@example.com, and we will forward it to the respective author. All post for authors is forwarded onto them, though we are unable to guarantee a reply. Please write to:

Are you hiring?
We are not currently hiring and we are also unable to keep speculative CVs on file. Vacancies in publishing are usually listed in the Bookseller.
Can I have a free copy of a book?
Unfortunately, we only keep a couple of copies of each book for our reference shelves. If you write for a newspaper or have a brilliant blog and need a copy for reviewing purposes, contact the publicity department of the relevant publishing house, who should be able to help.
Can I meet with you before I send in my work?
We normally don't meet potential clients until we have read their work. If we enjoy your writing, we will get in touch to organise a meeting.
Do you handle film and television rights?
In partnership with wonderful and trusted film and television agents, we do indeed look after the dramatic rights of our authors' books.
